Art journal page - Love, Harmony, Happiness and Home

Hi and welcome :0) Today I can finally show you a bigger project. This page is ca 12.5"x10" (31x25 cm). It is an entry for Simon Says Stamps´s Monday challenge "Make your own background".

I found these beautiful kimono pictures on Etsy and instead of making four pages I combined them in one. I love the outcome and I must addmit that it was refreshing to create something bigger :0)

I started with a simply colored paper from my stash - green, yellow, blue and red. I embossed the paper with Tim Holtz´s 3D embossing folder. Than I found some Archival ink pads in darker tones than a paper and rubbed them on to enhance the embossed pattern of the quilted leather. It changed the look of the paper a lot, but beautifully :0) Then I cut the papers with AALL Create new cutting dies for background shape and another one from black cardstock to make a frame. I painted the black shapes with black acrylic paint and rough sponge douber to create a texture on it. I glued both layers together, added the kimonos and stamped and embossed chinese characters for each word with Ranger´s Gold queen embossing powder framed with a black liner pen. I added the same words in english and cut out and glued together 3 layers of the black cardstock for the central symbol of Longevity. Top layer I embossed with the same gold embossing powder. To let the colours shine even more and protect the printed pictures I used Distress micro Glaze on top of them.

I mounted all five elements on brown wood patterned paper which I darkened with Gathered twix ink from Tim Holtz. Finally I added black frame painted again with black acrylic paint and sponge douber - the page frame are actually 6 left over pieces from an old wall callender and I´m happy that I used them this way. This page was really a pleasure to create and I enjoyed every minute of the process :0)

So thank you for your visit, have a nice weekend and see you next time :0)

Dylusions art journal - Cabinet of curiosities

Hi and welcome :0) Today´s page is in the 8"x8" (ca 21x21 cm) Dylusions journal.

I recently bought a Color Cube catalog and cards from Sarah Renae Clark and I picked one card with color combination I like to try if I can use it for my project.

And I played a bit with a watercolor style background and coloring. I stamped glass domes around the central circle and coloured them with violet, pink and orange Ditress Spray stains and Dylusions Ink sprays which I applied with a brush. For the background I´ve chosen teal colours (altough in the picture it looks more blue). I stamped a lot with gold ink - star constellations and moon phases -  and used gold acrylic pen from Uni Posca and black liner to enhance all the images and add some details. The central amonite shell is from Impression Obsession stamps. Finally I finished the page with some butterfly stickers and wrote a quote. I must admit that this color combination is not what I would normally chose, but I quite like the outcome :0)

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - The music wall

Hi and welcome :0) Today's journal is cca 24,5 x 15 cm (9.5" x 6") and it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge "Emboss it" and Wednesday challenge "Easter/Spring".

I cut Tim Holtz's birds out from the black cardstock and embossed the rest of the cardstock with stone wall embossing folder. Then I cut out birds again from white patterned paper, colored them with green and brown Distress inks and inlay them into the openings. I added my quote from the same patterned paper.

I added background layer - white cardstock embossed with Lisa Horton's palm leaves embossing folder and colored with green Distress inks. I drew a peace of earth with the note comming up of it and colored it with black glaze pen and brown Distress watercolor pencils. The glaze pen I used also for eyes and hearts of the birds.

Thank you for your visit, have a very nice Easter and see you soon :0)

Art journal page - Free spirit forever

Hi and welcome back :0) Today´s page has ca 21 x 21 cm / 8.5" x 8.5". I used leftover blue and green tiles shaded with green and blue Ranger´s archival inks from last project to create an another background combined with doodles which I drew with Sakura black gel pen. I mounted this background to another black cardstock with the similar doodles to achieve a bigger frame and space for my focal image.

I painted gears and clock (die-cuts) with Spectrum noir´s Sparkle black glitter brush pen, layered them for more dimension and sealed them with gloss acrylic medium. Then I added a small collage of Etsy images to create my focal point. As always I sealed all images with Distress micro glaze to create an extra protection for them. Finally I mounted a quote with smaller brads painted with black alcohol marker.

Thank you for your visit, have a nice evening and see you soon :0)

Art journal page - Life is a chess game

Hi and welcome back :0) This page has cca 20 cm x 20 cm (ca 8" x 8") and it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday challenges "A Bit O´Green".

I started with blue and green colored papers and created a ca 1" tiles. I used Ranger´s Leaf green and Cobalt Archival inks to create shading and stamped another set of tiles with these inks. I layered blank and stamped tiles to create final mosaic background. With Sacura black Glaze pen I drew checkerboard on a black cardstock and also colored stamped chess figures. When I finished the background I added my focal image from Etsy and a quote.

I really like the glaze pen. On the black cardstock it creates very nice two toned effect with a gentle shine :0)

Thank you for your visit, have a nice Sunday and see you soon :0)

Art journal page - Moment of beauty

Welcome and thank you for visiting my blog :0) This is another smaller page (20.5 cm x 14 cm / 5.5" x 8") for this year, an entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge "Fun With Stencils", for Allsorts challenge "Week 766" and also for  Stencil Fun "February challenge"

I started the page with a few spritz of coffe and added some brown Distress inks over it to make it darker. I embossed the background with starry 3D embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp and enhanced the stars with Finnabair´s gold wax. Circle of watercolor paper was again sprayed with coffee and colored with brown Distress inks and turquoise acrylic paint. I used Tim Holtz´s Harlequin stencil for it. I added some brown stamping with text stamps from AALL & Create, gold ink through the Tim Holtz´s floral stencil and lines with Posca gold acrylic pen. I stamped the moon with gold ink, colored it a bit with very diluted Scattered straw Distress ink and added a butterfly, a quote and a gold metallic string on the edges. My focal point is from Etsy.

Have a nice day and see you :0)

Art journal page - Happily foolish

Welcome and all the best in 2024 :0) This is my first journal page of this year (23 cm x 15.5 cm / 6" x 9") and it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge "Add Some Texture".

Usually I don´t make New Year's resolutions, but if I would, for this year it would definitely be "buy less and create more" ,0). It would be great to use finally all the beautiful crafty things I already have. Or realize the ideas which are waiting in my head for such a long time.

So today is the day.... I love smell of the coffee, although I dont drink it and I wanted to create some page stained with it. I made a few of them very long time ago and these pages still smell wonderfully... Today´s page is a combination of coffe and Distress inks and smell in my craft room is just awesome and intense (maybe because I dried papers with my heat tool) ,D

I used brown tinted papers in two shades for the background and all the 3 tags. I stained them more with a strong coffee, added some embossing (with a damask folder on the background and with a gold powder on the tags). I stencilled the tags with Distress inks and stamped some tiny text with Distress Archival inks in Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso. I colored white ribbon with Distress Spray stains and cut the letters with Tim Holtz alphanumeric Tiny Type die set. My focal points are digital images from Etsy finished a bit with gold acrylic pen.

And this is it for today. Thank you for your visit, stay happy and healthy and see you soon :0)

Art journal page - Bloom and Shine

Hi and  welcome again :0) Today's page is still in my 6" x 8" (cca 15 x 20 cm) Hahnemühle journal book. and it is a second entry for Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge What is your favorite color?.

Another of my favorite colours is blue and I really like this Lindy's Stamp Gang magical's Dragonfly Denim. I like Lindy's colours, but you need more layers to obtain really dark colour, because they dry much lighter than they look after the application. Especially when you use more water for your technique.

This time I started with the combination of the Dragonfly Denim spray and Have a Scone Heather Lindy's magical shaker applied with a brush. Than I used two stencils from my stash and Distress Micro glaze to create a resist and applied these two colors over it again few times. The outcome was nice, but too subtle. So I decided to add swirl die-cuts from Tim Holtz coloured with these two colors, but this time with more Heather's violet pink. My focal point is again from Etsy and I'm happy how the finished background contrasts with yellow flowers :0)

Thank you for your visit, feel free to leave me a comment and have a very nice end of the week :0)

Art journal page - Searching for the good life

Hi and  welcome back :0) Today's page is again in 6" x 8" (cca 15 x 20 cm) Hahnemühle journal book and it is an entry for Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge What is your favorite color?, for Allsorts challenge Week 746 and also my second entry for Stencil Fun September challenge

I admit that I have more than one favorite color, but one of them is definitely an orange.

I started with Lindy's orange magical powder Teenie weenie bikini applied with a brush and few layers of water droplets.Than I used Barbary stars stencil from AALL and Create together with Distress inks Spiced marmalade, Carved pumpkin and Rusted hinge and Memento dual marker (and more water). For the lower part of the page I used chess board stencil from Clarity stamps. This time I added also Vintage photo and Ground espresso Distress inks. And water droplets of course :D

I finished the page with one of the beautiful images from Etsy, Tim Holtz's and 49 and Market's rub-ons and a printed quote. And I need to say, how much I love the contrast between green and orange colors, they nicely fit together :0)

Thank you that you've stopped by, feel free to leave me a comment and have a very nice Monday :0)

P.S. I'm very happy that this page was in Simon Says Stamp "What is your favorite color?" Designer spotlight :0)

Art journal page - Beautiful

Hi :0) I have another 6"x8" (cca 15x20 cm) art journal page in Hahnemühle journal book. This one is my entry for Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday challenge Make it Cute.

I'm still in Lindy's magical shakers so today's background is a mix of Lizzy's Cuppa Tea Teal and Spill the Tea Teal with a few layers of water droplets to create a texture. I stamped all page with this nice leaves stamp from Chocolate Baroque, coloured all images with Winsor and Newton Gold drawing ink and I re-draw everything with 003 Pigma Micron liner. I love this background and it was very hard for me to "covered" it with other images :D

I cut the window from semi-black mirrored cardstock with the die from Tim Holtz, scratched it with a sand paper and re-painted with black archival ink and black acrylic pen. Night sky is a mix of the same shakers I used for the background, this time with much more of Spill the Tea Teal. This "blue" shaker colour is a real beauty :0)

I die-cut the moon with a moon die from Whimsy Stamps and coloured with the WN Gold ink. The same one I used also for the stars. Whimsy Stamps's robots are stamped on silver cardstock from TH, scratched a bit and over-painted with a clear gesso to dull the shine and add the texture for colouring. I coloured them with black archival ink, Gold ink and magical shakers. Than I re-defined the lines with black acrylic paint pen and fixed the images with acrylic liquid medium. At the end I added a stripe from mirrored cardstock and a quote label from Simple Stories.

Thank you for your visit, feel free to leave me a comment and have a very nice Friday :0)

Art journal page - Where do you go, my lovely?

Hi and welcome back :0) Today I have another page in 6"x8" (cca 15x20 cm) art journal from Hahnemühle. This one is my entry for Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge Take Flight.

Background is a combination of Lindy's magical shakers Pinkies Up Pink, Pass the Jam Jane, Have a Scone Heather and Spill the Tea Teal. When I was satisfied with the final mix I added a few layers of water droplets to create a texture (and I must say that this paper is great to hold such amount of water) and some pearl white and white splatters as stars.

For a planet I used Crumpet Crumbs, Pinkies Up Pink and Pemberley Pride Purple shakers - a lot of layers combined with a lot of water mists and droplets :0). Finally I added 49 and Market and Tim Holtz rub-ons and a quote inspired by a song from No Mercy (oh the memories :0).

For the focal point I use an image from Etsy again :0)

Thank you for your visit, feel free to leave me a comment and have a very nice "again so sunny" day :0)

Art journal page - Everything you can imagine

Hi and welcome :0) This is a page from my smaller 6"x8" (cca 15x20 cm) art journal from Hahnemühle.

This pate is an entry for Stencil Fun blog September challenge.

I created a background with water and more layers of Lindy's magical shakers Lizzy's Cuppa Tea Teal and Spill the Tea Teal.  I added stenciling with Dylusions small Suits You Sir stencil and Salvaged Patina and Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxides and finished the background with 49 and Market and Tim Holtz rub-ons and a quote.  As my focal point I used another image from Etsy :0)

Thank you for your visit, feel free to leave me a comment and have a very nice "still summer" weekend :0)

Art journal page - Faraway adventure

Hi and welcome :0) This page is again from Canson Mix Media middle art book - 17 x 25 cm (cca 6.5" x 10") and it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge Transport it.

I started with a background sprayed with Mustard seed and Rusty hinge distress Spray Stains. I created my own background patterned paper with some stamps with an ocean theme stamped in different directions with Kaleidacolor Cappucciono delight dye ink - it is a rainbow inkpad with very nice matching colours. I embossed the whole background with wood grain stencil and used a brayer with Rusty hinge and Ground espresso inks to make the pattern more visible. The final result reminds me water waves :0). As my focal point I made a collage of few images I found recently on Etsy and I really love the outcome :0)

Thank you for your visit, feel free to leave me a comment and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Do anything

Hi and welcome back :0) Today's page is another one in Canson Mix Media middle art book - 17 x 25 cm (cca 6.5" x 10").

I sprayed blue and green Distress Spray stains on my background and added blue Distress Oxide ink through the puzzle stencil. I framed the pattern with a light blue acrylic pen. I stenciled a world map, coloured it with shades of brown and yellow and framed with black acrylic pen. Than I added some text with the stencil and Hero Arts white pigment ink and highlighted the words with brown and white acrylic markers. Finally I glued my focal image coloured with Ohuhu water-based markers and black acrylic pen.

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - We are all mad here

Hi and welcome :0) Today's page is in Canson Mix Media middle art book - 17 x 25 cm (cca 6.5" x 10"). And it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge Anything goes.

I started with a sun rays stencil and two shades of blue Distress ink - Tumbled glass and Salty ocean. With a Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide stamped a bigger background stamp over it and added white pigment ink through coffee beans stencil over the lighter stripes. And I did not like the outcome. So I sprayed Black marble Dylusions spray over everything and a miracle happened. Oxide and pigment ink partially resisted the dye spray and the page looked much better :0).

Than I stamped with Versamark through a Visible image's hat stencil and added Ranger's Perfect pearls and a mist of water. I stamped Visible image's stamps from Alice in Wonderland collection and coloured them with water-based markers. Finally I framed all with black and white acrylic markers and added my quote from Tim Holtz's Snarky chat.

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Time for everything

Hi and welcome :0) This is a page in my smaller 6"x8" (cca 15x20 cm) art journal from Hahnemühle.

This page was highly inspired by Nuneka. I was in love with the stripy page she made and it's colour combination so I needed to create my own version :0)

I masked some stripes on my page with a masking tape and painted the rest with blue shades of Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays. Than I added a texture with stencil and texture paste. I printed a photo as my focal point and framed it with the circle. The inner circle was stamped with a stencil sprayed with orange Starburst spray and coloured with Distress Spiced marmalade ink. I finished the design with greenery die-cuts coloured with the same Lindy's colours and also darkened with Distress Mermaid lagoon ink.

Thank you for your visit and have a nice relaxing day :0)

Tag - From the artist's point of view

Hi and welcome :0) Here is another Nr. 10 manila tag (ca 21,5 x 10 cm).

Last week I played with a Dina Wakley's Media Gloss Sprays. I made a few backgrounds and this is a first finished tag.

I stamped a Tim Holtz's Bubbles stamp with a Versamark ink and heat embossed it with a Silver pearl embossing powder from Wow!. I added a piece of light brown lace and my focal images from Whimsy Stamps coloured with the Zig Clean color real brush markers.

Thank you for stopping by and see you next time :0)

Tag - Eternal beauty - faux leather technique

Hi and welcome :0) Today I have a new Nr. 10 manila tag (ca 21,5 x 10 cm) with faux leather look.

I used a nice 3D embossing folder with Peonies from Lisa Horton Crafts and painted the whole tag - an debossed side - with a Vintage Photo Distress paint. Then I rubbed a Ground Espresso Tim Holtz's archival inkpad  over the whole surface to reveal the design. The deepest parts remained lightest and upper parts are darkest. Finally I sealed and enhanced the leather look with Distress MicroGlaze. In the reality the paper looks fantastic - like a real leather.

I was thrilled with the outcome so I did not want to cover it much, so I finished the design only with a few smaller butterfly stickers and a quote (and - because nothing is perfect and we should embrace the imperfections - with a small mistake too) :0)

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Pleasure of art

Hi and welcome again :0). Today's page has ca 9.5"x 8.5"  (cca 24 x 21 cm).

I am enchanted with the new Lisa Horton Crafts 3D embossing folders - Visteria, Gears and Pipework. I wanted to combine them on one page and I am very satisfied with the outcome :0) I used Peacock feathers and few other blue-green Distress inks and also brown Distress inks to achieve the final colours I like. I enhanced the details with Finnabair's Gold wax. I loved the page as it was, but I decided to add three observers as a "visitors in the gallery" (Katzelkraft) :0)

Please feel free to leave me a comment, thank you for your visit, enjoy the rest of the week and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - Relax

Hi and welcome :0) Here is a new page in my smaller 6"x8" (cca 15x20 cm) art journal from Hahnemühle. It is my entry for the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge "No patterned paper".

For my background I combined yellow, orange and green Distress ink colors spritzed with water and applied with a plastic foil. I added brown Distress colors through a stripes stencil and also some splashes with a brush. The letters are Tim Holtz's Varsity alphabet die and coloured them with the same brown inks and darker brown marker. I used different water-based markers to colour my focal images.

Thank you for your visit and have a nice relaxing day :0)

Art journal page - Imagination

Hi and welcome again :0). Today's double-sided page is 6.5"x 6.5"  (ca. 16,5 x 16,5 cm) and it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge Make your mark.

I created both backgrounds with the help of the big blot stencil and Saltwater taffy, Salvaged patina and Uncharted mariner Distress inks. I also used mix of black inks and Kuretake's Gansai Tambi White gold pigment colour diluted with water which I splashed with the small brush as stars. With the black acrylic marker I blocked shapes of the colours from my background to create the final design.

Then I added my focal images coloured with alcohol markers and water-based markers.

Thank you for stopping by, have a nice week and see you next time :0)

Art journal page - We all have DREAMS

Hi and welcome back :0). Today's 8"x 8"  (ca. 20 x 20 cm) art journal page is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge Add texture

I played with Visible Image's tiger and cats stamps. For the background I used Lost shadow, Hickory smoke and Black soot Distress inks and I stamped my images with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. This oil  based ink is beautifully intensive and black. I coloured the cats with Karin Brushmarkers PRO. For the eyes and splatters I used Kuretake's Gansai Tambi Yellow gold pigment colour. This pigment watercolors have a lot of mica in it and they are really shiny. They also have so thick consistency that you can feel them under the fingers, when you touch the page. Finally I added some texture with a small notches around the sides of the inner page.

Thank you for stopping by, have a nice Sunday and see you next time :0)

Hi and welcome :0) Today's page has ca 8"x 5" (cca 20 x 14 cm) and it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Add Texture".

I created background texture with an embossing folder and I played with Distress Spray Stains and Distress Oxide sprays - Broken China and Speckled Egg. To enhance the texture I used brown Distress and archival inks. I cut a ship window and an anchor from Tim Holtz's silver Metallic kraft-stock, scratched it with a sand paper and coloured with different brown inks and black acrylic pen.

Rest of my images I coloured with Tim Holtz's Distress watercolor pencils and Distress inks and black and white acrylic pens. The lovely ghost stamp is from Sweet November Stamps as well as the floor stamp. The background tree design is a very nice new Hero Arts stamp.

Thank you for your visit and see you soon :0)

Dylusions art journal - Laid-backers

Hi and welcome :0) This page is in the 8"x8" (ca 21x21 cm) Dylusions journal.

All the stamps I used for this page are from Lesia Zgharda Stamps - leaf, foxes and hares and also the circles (base for the picture of a record). I like these stamps a lot - I think that for the first time I used the stamps immediately I've receive them :0) First I've created main image and than a background "over it". Background was created with blots of gray colours (with the help of a plastic foil and water sprayer) and Tim Holtz's old alphabet stencil. I masked the pictures to protect them during the process. I coloured everything with Zig Clean color real brush markers and black and white acrylic markers.

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)

Hi and welcome :0) I have another page in my Dylusions classic ca. 8"x11" (cca 20 x 28 cm) journal and it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge Anything Goes.

I used Dylusions dy-cuts again, some text stamps, hibiscus stamp from Gina K., cats from AALL & Create, puzzle stencil from Ciao Bella and some puzzle die. I coloured the background with Dylusions shimmer paints and my images with black acrylic paint and Dylusions ink sprays - always in a combination of Pure sunshine, Fresh lime and Blue lagoon (with a small addition of Dirty martini and Tangerine dream). For the big circle I dry-embossed pearly white velum from my stash.

Thank you for your visit, have a nice Sunday and see you next time :0)

Welcome back :0) Today's page is from Dylusions classic ca. 8"x11" (cca 20 x 28 cm) journal and it is my entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge Love Is In The Air.

This page is about family and relationships, about love and hope.

Art journal page - Hele, kaktus!

Hi and welcome :0) Today's page is about 5.5" x 7.5" (cca 14 x 18.5 cm).

I was inspired by the joke. It's Czech variation. In English it would be: Two balloons are floating across the desert. One balloon says to the other: "Be careful, there's a cactusssssssss...."

I have a dragon (who is warning) and only one balloon (in danger) and the joke still works ,0) At least in czech language :D (It would be like this: Dragon says: "Look out for the cactus!" And balloon says: "Where do you see itttttttttt....".)

I used an embossed background created with Tim Holtz's Mosaic 3D folder with red Distress Spray Stains and Oxide Sprays, Distress Resist spray and brown Distress crayons. Cactus images are from Ciao Bella and dragon from Whimsy stamps. I coloured everything with Faber-Castell Pitt brush pens and black and white acrylic pens. Finally I added black cardstock embossed with Tattered Lace typewriter text folder.

Anyway, I like this page a lot and it made also my husband smile ,0))

Thank you for your visit and see you next time :0)
