Art journal page - Winter

Hurray, hurray, hurray :0)

My mini series is finished - today I would like to share with you the final - Winter - art journal page :0). I need to say, that this is an awesome feeling, because I was not able to thing about creating anything else before finishing this mini series of journal pages - Spring-Summer-Autumn-Winter. It started very innocently with nice magnolia stamp I wanted to use, than I named the page Spring and that was, surprisingly, just beginning :0)) Anyway this page shows my favorite winter - a lot of tea and books, pleasant view from the window in a warm room - watching the sparkling snow and the snowman we made this year - winter paradise :0))
This time I used books stamp from Sheena Douglass, snowman from Stampendous, tree stamps from Chocolate Baroque and snowflakes from Winnie and Walter. For background and textures I used Tim Holtz Knit texture fades which I really love and wood grain embossing folder from Crafter's Companion. Beautiful sparkle on the snow and text (unfortunately not so visible on the photo) is Ranger's Clear Rock Candy on the sticky embossing powder. And all images are colored again with Distress mini ink pads used on my craft sheet as a palette. At the and of the coloring I covered some parts of the pictures with Ranger Distress micro glaze, so they become waterproof and the colors intensified. Textured background is gently sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Glitz Spritz (Steel Shimmer).
Square 28 x 28 cm (cca 11" x 11")

I hope you've enjoyed this series and if you want, please leave me a comment - I would be happy to know what do you think :0)

Art journal page - Autumn

Hi,

today I have an art journal page with autumn theme. I wanted to make an impression of changing colors of the autumn nature. Therefore, I have a two-tone background this time :0) I used leaves stamps from Penny Black and some old clear (no name) stamps, mushrooms from Chocolate Baroque and Sheena Douglass and rose hips and chestnuts from Chocolate Baroque. Trees are just hand drawn and for more interest used a wood texture stamp from Kaisercraft.  This time I colored all images with Distress ink pads - I used mini ink pads, put them on my craft sheet and used them as a palette. The alcohol markers I used just for shadows of the object on the background. For better control of the color intensity I used just an ordinary small round brush dipped in water droplets, not a water brush. At the and of the coloring I covered all the objects (except trees and mushroom legs) with Ranger Distress micro glaze, so they become waterproof and the colors intensified. Background is a combination of two Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays (Bayou Boogie Gold, Cajun Carnelian Red), Prima Marketing Color bloom sprays (Sorbet, Gilded), gesso and water droplets.
Square 28 x 28 cm (cca 11" x 11")

I hope you like it and I would be happy if you would leave me a comment :0)

Importance of having sun .0)

Hi,

today I am very very happy, because I solved one big problem...how to show true colors of my artworks. And yesterday I found a great solution - sunlight :0). On February, there are not many sunny days, but yesterday I wanted to make some pictures of my new work in progress and I wanted to record all the nice colors and shine of it. But unfortunately my workroom window is to the north, so there is no chance to make a good photo. I went on our south balcony and winter sun shined directly on it. And the photos were so great that I decided to re-photograph my artworks (those I still have) from my previous entries and updated my blog and Pinterest gallery with them, so you could see all the beautiful true colors of my works just like I do :0) Please enjoy them with me and have a great beautiful day (although today it is a rainy one here) :0)

Art journal page - Summer

Hi,

today I have an art journal page with summer theme and colors :0) I used shell stamps from Chocolate Baroque, Inkadinkado and Sheena Douglass and also some labels from sea-themed JustRite stamps . Lovely cherries are also from Chocolate Baroque stamps and tiny birds are from one of the Xcut "build a scene" die sets. The bottles are made from two layers of the acetate sheet and inside colored with Ranger alcohol inks with a little help of StazOn ink pads. Because both layers with the alcohol ink in between them are a little bit sliding, I glued them together with a glossy acrylic medium. On the back side of them I also put one layer of a translucent tracing paper, so the plastic is not so so transparent at the end :0). Other images are colored with Spectrum noir and Twin Touch alcohol markers and some Distress ink pads. Background is made with combined technique of three Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays (Baby Blue Eyes Aqua and Delphinium Turquoise), gesso and water droplets.
